McCordsville United Methodist Church Lord’s Acre Parade and Car Show Seeking Local Participation

Everyone loves a parade – come out and watch the community parade on Saturday, September 12 at 4:00 or even be a part of it! This year there will be a trophy given for the most creative participant!

The half-mile parade route will start at McCordsville Elementary School at 7177 North 600 West, McCordsville.  From McCordsville Elementary School, the parade will travel north on 600 West and then head west on Broadway (SR 67/Pendleton Pike) to Form Street and end at the McCordsville Fire station.  Participants are asked to be at the McCordsville Elementary School at 3:30 p.m.

Get your family or group together and ride bicycles, or ride in your family truck, golf cart or make a float!  Rowdie from the Indianapolis Indians, Mount Vernon High School cheerleaders, antique tractors and hot rod cars will all be part of this year’s community parade.

A prize and trophy will be awarded for the most creative participant in the parade.

And…if you have a car, truck or tractor you want to show off…

Display your car, truck or tractor in the community parade as a “cruise in” to the car show that follows the parade on Saturday, September 12 from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.  Fan voting on the car show participants will take place until 7:00 p.m. and awards will be given at 7:30 p.m. Categories that fans may vote in for the car show are:

Pre 70's
Post 70's
Best Truck
Best Tractor

The winner in each category will receive a plaque and a $25 gift certificate to NAPA Auto Parts in Fortville, and the first 50 entrants will receive a dash plate and a goody bag full of great local merchant coupons.

An entry donation of $10 is requested and will benefit the church youth programs.  This event will take place rain or shine and the $10 entry donation is non-refundable. Space is limited so sign up today!

And…thanks to the fine folks at NAPA Auto Parts for sponsoring this year’s Car Show along with Fortville Tire and the Wagon Wheel Eatery!!
