The children of our community are very important to us. We love our children and are passionate about teaching them that they are loved by God and their church family.
We have many opportunities for your children to learn and grow and we would like to invite you to visit us anytime to see what we have to offer.
The safety of our children is a priority. That's why all our our youth leaders and volunteers participate in a yearly child protection training program and must pass a police background check.
For our elementary age children
Each Sunday, all the children are invited to the front of our Sanctuary during service for a "Childrens Moment." They will learn a lesson and a prayer is offered just for them. School age children are escorted to a classroom where they can learn the lesson of the day along with crafts or other activities.
For ages 3 and younger
For the little ones, we have a nursery/preschool room next to the Sanctuary. You may leave your little one with our nursery attendant or you are more than welcome to stay with them. See one of our greeters or ushers for assistance.
Grades 7 through 12
McCordsville United Methodist Church's Youth Group is open to everyone in grades 7-12. You don't have to live in the community or attend church to join the group. We welcome any youth who is interested in meeting with others their own age outside of school in a safe and fun enviroment.
The Youth Group uses the upper floor of the church and it is equipped just for them. Game tables, Board games, bible lessons and more. Don't miss out on our meetings because we will be planning our future events, trips, service projects and having fun.
Meetings will be held on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. Also, as schedule allows, they participate in activities like laser tag, bowling and roller skating. They also made a special trip to the Ark Encounter and Creation Museum. The group earns these special activities by serving the church and community at various events.
For more information, call Amy Reeves at 317-695-0472.
During the year, we host several events just for the kids of the community. Some of our regular events include:
- Easter Egg Hunt with the Easter Bunny each spring.
- Vacation Bible School held each summer.
- A child-friendly Halloween Party in October.
- A Christmas event held in December.
- Special activities throughout the year.
Questions, Volunteering and Donations
We are always looking for volunteers to help out with all of our activities and in need of donations to help fund these events. Without volunteers and donations, none of these activities for the youth could take place. Please feel free to ask one of the following members at our church for more information.
Amy Reeves - Head of our Christian Education/Youth Group Coordinator
Sarah Payton - Sunday School Coordinator
