Lord’s Helping Hands

Taking God’s WORD to the Streets

Taking God’s WORD to the Streets through prayer, meals, and faithful presence.

We are called to share the Word of God beyond the walls of the church—bringing truth, hope, and love directly into the community through faithful presence, practical care, and consistent service.

Taking God’s WORD to the Streets

We are called to share the Word of God beyond the walls of the church—bringing truth, hope, and love directly into the community.

Twice a month on Saturdays, we prepare meals, gather supplies, and go out to meet people where they are—because the Word is meant to be lived, not just spoken.

Where We Serve

Our outreach began at the Motor 8 Inn on Shadeland Avenue, where we first felt called to serve.

As relationships formed, residents from nearby Motel 6 began walking over to join us. In response, the mission expanded—and today we serve at both locations.

We go where the need is, and we stay where relationships are built.

How We Serve

We share God’s Word through both what we say and what we do.

  • Offering prayer and conversation
  • Providing a warm, prepared meal
  • Showing consistent presence and care

Each interaction is an opportunity to remind someone they are seen, valued, and loved by God.

Get Involved

You are invited to take part in this mission.

  • Meal Prep: Begins at 8:30 a.m. at the church
  • Packing: Help prepare and package individual meals (desserts and donations welcome)
  • Serve: We depart around 11:30 a.m. to serve at both locations

This outreach takes place twice a month on Saturdays.

For exact serving dates, please check our Church Calendar or visit our Facebook page for the most up-to-date schedule.

Come once or come often—there is always a place for you.

Support the Mission

If you’re unable to attend in person, donations of food items, desserts, and supplies help make this outreach possible.
