Finding Christ in Christmas
Advent Photo Challenge 2025
Welcome to Advent at McCordsville UMC! This Advent season, we invite you to join us as we prepare our hearts to find Christ in Christmas. Through Max Lucado’s devotional In the Manger, our weekly worship, and a churchwide photo challenge, we’ll explore how God reveals His hope, peace, joy, and love through the humble birth of Jesus.
How It Works
- Read the day’s devotion from In the Manger.
- Reflect on how that truth appears in your own life.
- Snap a photo that captures your reflection.
- Post it on Facebook/Instagram (or in our church group) with #MUMCAdvent2025 or #FindingChristInChristmas.
Week 1 – Hope
“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.” — John 1:14 (ESV)
Week 2 – Peace
“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!” — Luke 2:14 (ESV)
Week 3 – Joy
“Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.” — Luke 2:10 (ESV)
Week 4 – Love
“Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men.” — Philippians 2:5–7 (ESV)
