Lent 2026

A Season of Reflection, Grace, and Renewal

Lent is a 40-day season that invites us to slow down, reflect honestly, and make room for God’s renewing grace.

Ash Wednesday: February 18, 2026 • Easter Sunday: April 5, 2026

In the United Methodist tradition, Lent is not about perfection or performance. It is about turning toward God again—through prayer, simplicity, generosity, and acts of mercy—and allowing God to shape us as disciples of Jesus Christ.

Ash Wednesday

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent. During worship, ashes are often placed on the forehead as a visible reminder of our human frailty and our deep need for God’s grace.

Ashes remind us that repentance is not about shame, but about returning to a loving and merciful God.

Weekly Focus

During Lent, we share a short weekly reflection tied to our Lenten journey path—along with a guiding question and a simple practice for the week.

For simplicity, these weekly reflections are posted on our Facebook page.

Walking the Lenten Journey

Throughout Lent, we are invited to walk a shared journey of reflection, prayer, and hope. Rather than focusing on a single weekly message on this page, our congregation follows a seasonal path shaped by Scripture and the movement of Lent toward Easter.

Each week, we share a brief focus, reflection question, and simple practice connected to this Lenten journey on our Facebook page. These weekly posts are designed to help you carry the season into daily life.

Our Lenten Journey Path
  • Feb 18 (Ash Wednesday): Returning to God’s mercy
  • Feb 22 (First Sunday in Lent): Mercy on the Wilderness Road
  • Mar 1 (Second Sunday in Lent): Guided by the Promise
  • Mar 8 (Third Sunday in Lent): Companion for the Journey
  • Mar 15 (Fourth Sunday in Lent): Journeying in Grace
  • Mar 22 (Fifth Sunday in Lent): Redemption Road
  • Mar 29 (Palm / Passion Sunday): Holy Week Begins
  • Apr 2 (Maundy Thursday): Love that Serves
  • Apr 3 (Good Friday): The Cross and God’s Saving Love
  • Apr 5 (Easter Sunday): Resurrection Hope

We invite you to follow along each week as this journey unfolds.

Simple Lenten Practices

  • Prayer: Set aside a consistent time to listen and speak honestly with God.
  • Simplicity: Let go of one distraction to create space for God.
  • Generosity: Give of your time, resources, or compassion intentionally.

Families may also choose a simple daily calendar or giving practice to involve children and youth.

Holy Week

As Lent draws to a close, we enter Holy Week—the final days of Jesus’ earthly ministry and the heart of the Christian story.

Palm Sunday: March 29, 2026 Maundy Thursday: April 2, 2026 Good Friday: April 3, 2026 Easter Sunday: April 5, 2026

Service details will be shared on this page and on Facebook as the week approaches.
