A Week to Pray, Reflect and Seek Unity
January 18-25, 2026
Each year, Christians around the world observe the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, setting aside time to pray for greater understanding, reconciliation, and unity among followers of Christ.
At McCordsville United Methodist Church, we join this global invitation by pausing to reflect on Christ’s prayer for unity and our shared calling to love one another across traditions, communities, and differences.
Why This Week Matters
Christian unity does not mean uniformity. It means recognizing our shared faith in Christ while honoring the diverse ways we worship, serve, and live out the gospel. This week encourages us to listen with humility, pray with intention, and seek God’s guidance as we grow together in faith.
Through prayer and reflection, we are reminded that unity begins not in agreement on every detail, but in love, grace, and mutual respect.
How You Can Participate
Set aside time each day for prayer or quiet reflection
Pray for understanding and reconciliation within the global Christian community
Reflect on how unity can be lived out through compassion, service, and hospitality
This is a personal and communal invitation—whether you pray alone, with family, or alongside others.
All Are Welcome
The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity is open to everyone. As United Methodists, we believe we are called to live out our faith together—connected by God’s grace and strengthened through prayer, service, and love.
May this week invite us to open our hearts in prayer, seek unity within the body of Christ, and grow in our shared witness to God’s love in the world.
“May they all be one.” — John 17:21
